I have a very old version of Mydatabase (6.500) and it will not backup or transfer to Windows 10. Any suggestions? Also at this time its stored on a old computer running on XP.

You can't transfer the software on Windows 10 because it doesn't have support for this operating system. I've checked the official website and these are the versions of Windows supported by MyDatabase: Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8. As you can see, Windows 10 doesn't appear between those versions of Windows which means that you should wait for an update or run the program in Compatibility mode. Right click the executable file and select Properties > Compatibility. Choose a previous version of Windows from the list and run the software that way.

Although the application was released for XP, Vista, 7 and 8, I can assure you it will work in Windows 8.1. Yes, you can use it in a Windows 8.1 environment. Make sure to run it in Administrator mode (right click the installation package > Run as Administrator).

I have been using this old data base program for many years and currently have been using it with Windows 8.1. Everything has worked fine until yesterday. I usually access this database several times a week. I have/had 2 folders containing my .edb files. When I opened the program yesterday and tried to open one of those folders all I got was a message that says "Files not found". The folder icon on both of these folders is just an outline of the folder, but the info listed to the right of the folder name still shows the size of the file and date last changed. Do you have any idea what may have happened to my files?

From what you're saying, it appears the databases became corrupted. However, this can't happen without a proper reason, and I suspect the cause to be a corrupted application or another program installed on your computer.

At this point, the only thing you can try is to recover the files using a recovery solution. For example, Recuva is an application that's used to recover files that have been deleted or corrupted because of various reasons.

Download Recuva: http://recuva.software.informer.com

Save the package, install it, and then point it to where the databases were stored. Enable Deep Scan from the wizard menu to increase accuracy. When found (files marked with a green filled circle) right click them and choose another partition for recovery.
